On January 22, 2007, a new entrance to the uptown platform of the Fulton Street 4 train 5 train station opened at the southeast corner of Broadway and Maiden Lane. Customers can now enter and exit the subway a block south of the existing entrance at John Street, making access easier and reducing travel time from adjacent office buildings. A companion entrance to the downtown platform will open at the southeast corner of Broadway and Cortlandt St later this year.
