Manager-Facilities Maintenance – HMC/HSF
Engineering Department
Position Summary:
Manage and control the daily activities of craft workers in the 30-acre Hillside Maintenance Complex who are responsible for structural, electrical and plumbing repairs. Plan, estimate and schedule structural/electrical repairs and institute preventive maintenance programs to ensure occupants can obtain maximum use of a well operated, safe and aesthetic facility.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering field.
- Progressively responsible, recent, related facilities management/maintenance work experience in a complex, unionized environment.
- Must possess recent, related supervisory experience, including experience supervising/managing a unionized work force.
- Experience in positions with responsibility for administering company policies and procedures.
- Knowledge and understanding of building systems – such as, utilities, boilers, HVAC, fire protection, electrical distribution mechanical, plumbing systems, all facilities and emergency systems.
- Working knowledge and understanding of facility life safety systems.
- Experience and/or ability to develop and implement facility related preventative maintenance programs and deferred maintenance programs based on life cycle analysis.
- Must possess proven, effective leadership skills.
- A professional with a high degree of integrity and excellent judgment skills.
- Personal Computer Skills & experience utilizing various software applications i.e. spreadsheets, word processing, project management and computerized maintenance management system.
- Must possess strong problem solving, conflict resolution and decision-making skills.
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Knowledge of project management, construction practices, vendor operations.
- Understanding of budgets, cost effective solutions/alternatives/methods.
