Principal Buyer
Procurement & Logistics Department
Responsibilities:
- Prepare Invitation for Bid (IFB) packages for East Side Access procurements.
- Develop new sources of supply.
- Conduct bidders conferences and site tours.
- Analyze vendor qualifications (responsiveness and responsibility).
- Tabulate quotations; perform cost/price analysis.
- Issue purchase orders.
- Negotiate sole source and Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) agreements.
Minimum Requirements:
- Four years experience as a Buyer, including two years at a Senior Buyer level.
- Excellent written/oral communications and analytical skills.
- Ability to administer several projects simultaneously and concurrently, with ongoing changes in priority.
- Ability to think independently.
- Strong PC computer skills.
Preferred/Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field of study.
- Accredited Purchasing Practitioner (APP) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM)
- Knowledge of public authority procurement law.
- Knowledge of general purchase order terms and conditions.
