New York City skyline and the surrounding harbor. The Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and the Brooklyn Bridge are the perfect backdrop for whatever you decide to do on Governors Island. Educational souvenirs and books about the history of the island, as well as New York City, are available for purchase at the on-island bookstore.

Board the Governors Island ferry from the Battery Maritime Building at 10 South Street, Slip 7, north of the Staten Island Ferry Terminal in Lower Manhattan for the 7-minute ride to the island. Ferries leave every hour on the hour, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. The park closes at 5 p.m.

By subway: to Whitehall St; to Bowling Green; to South Ferry
By bus: M6, M9, M15
