Steps to the Subway

Like many New Yorkers, Brooklyn photographer Tim Connor loves to observe local sights while walking in New York. Camera in hand, he explores the endless visual variety found in the Brooklyn neighborhoods served by the New York City Transit subway system - from yard art in Carroll Gardens and kids at play in Fort Greene to the bleak beauty of Coney Island in the winter. He finds humor and beauty, pathos and poetry in his rambles, all captured in his images.

On weekdays Connor commutes by train to and from his job as a photo editor in Manhattan, where he works with images from all over the world. In his spare time he stays closer to home, wandering Brooklyn neighborhoods to record the always-changing people and places at eye level. Connor is a busy New York walker, making many local stops.

The exhibition will be on view through Winter 2008.
