BROTHERHOOD OF THE JUG BAND BLUES Ernesto "Lovercat" Gomez leads on vocals, guitar, kazoo, harmonica, and cajon with Arturo "the Jugman" Style on jug and harmonica and Eli "Sweet Son" Smith on vocals, washboard, guitar, and fiddle. Together, they play traditional jug band blues music, mixed with the urban influences of New York City. Jug bands originated in the South and enjoyed popularity around the St. Louis and Memphis area during the 20s and 30s and again nationwide during the 60s. All three band members came together after various stints with the Brooklyn Jugs, Jug Free America, and Banjorama.
