New customers get a month of free rides after their first three months.
Open your account with $10 and never pay more than $38 a month, no matter how many rides you take. Your EasyPay account is automatically refilled by credit/debit card, electronic debit, check, or money order. You get a 20 percent bonus every time you add $10 or more to your card.
Whenever your balance goes below $10, your credit/debit card or the account you specified is charged to bring your balance up to the minimum. Check-paying customers receive an invoice when their account balance reaches $10. Payment is then due immediately.
There are no charges if you are not using your EasyPay MetroCard.
If your checking account has insufficient funds, you will be charged $15 for each failed transaction. After two failed payments, you will be required to pay by certified check or money order. Your account will be closed if the balance falls below zero dollars.
Monthly Statements
You receive detailed monthly statements issued on the anniversary date of the day you opened your EasyPay MetroCard account. Large type and Braille statements are available upon request.
You must promptly review your statement and notify the account service center if you have questions regarding any charges. Charges not questioned within 30 days will be deemed valid.
Refund Policy
You may close your EasyPay account at any time and receive a refund of your current balance.
Express Bus Fares
Express bus fares are added to the total of your monthly rides but do not count toward the $38 maximum charge per month for subway and local bus rides.
Account Services
EasyPay MetroCard statements and other notices will be sent to you at the address you provide. You must inform us promptly of any change of address or payment information.
