Civil/Structural; Electrical; Mechanical and Environmental

We are currently seeking college seniors to work part-time in our Corps of Transit Engineers Program. This program provides the opportunity to become a full-time employee upon graduation including tuition reimbursement of up to $36,000.*

As the nation’s largest transit system, engineers in the Department of Capital Program Management have been involved in multi-million dollar projects such as:

• Reconstruction of the Stillwell Terminal at Coney Island including a 300 foot photovoltaic roof
• Rehabilitation of the 207th Street Overhaul Shop incorporating features needed to meet requirements of the new generation high-tech trains
• Rail Control Center and Automatic Train Supervision using state of the art Synchronous Optical Network (SONET) technology that monitors train movements in real time throughout the system.

Currently, engineers are involved in the new Fulton Street Transit Center, the new 2nd Avenue subway, new subway car technology, among other large –scale projects.

CAPITAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT/ENGINEERING SERVICES DIVISION
Assist construction staff in the oversight of capital projects or design staff in preparing and expediting the design of capital projects. Assist engineers or architects in the collection of data and in the treatment of data. Prepare reports that help management monitor the progress of capital projects. Assist in managing and/or preparing CADD drawings.

CAPITAL PROGRAM MANAGEMENT/CAPITAL PLANNING UNIT
Assist in the development of planning and engineering feasibility studies. Specific work includes: preparing conceptual engineering drawings utilizing CADD, preparing graphics for reports and presentations, collecting planning data and archived drawings, data reduction and analysis utilizing Excel spreadsheet software and developing project planning schedules.
