In addition to Transit's regular monthly sales offerings, we are very pleased to announce a new sales program designed especially for buyers interested in acquiring a little bit of NYC Transit's History.

Along with its outgoing fleet of buses and subway cars, Transit has Station Signs and Fixtures, Fareboxes, Vintage Tokens, Lighting Fixtures, and other "collectibles" such as Handholds, Seating and Destination Signs from retired "Redbird" subway cars for sale when available.

Each month we will feature items of interest to buyers, collectors or anyone who shares an interest in NYC Transit's History.

MC02127	"REDBIRD" SUBWAY CAR BUILDER PLATES A must-have for the railroad or subway enthusiast! These plates identify the origin of each individual "Redbird". When the "Redbird" fleet was rebuilt in the 1980's, most of the original plates were scrapped. However, a limited number of original plates are now available to you! These unique pieces were removed from retired "Redbird" subway cars, now serving as artificial ocean reefs in Georgia, South Carolina, Virginia, Delaware and New Jersey. The plates are engraved, "Built by St. Louis Car A Division of General Steel Industries, Inc." Each plate comes with its own certificate of authenticity.
